International Baccalaureate (IB)
The academic success of students makes them eligible to join the International Baccalaureate Program at Castle Park High. The goal of the IB Program is to develop the individual talents of each student and teach them to relate their experiences to the world around them. The mission of the IB Organization is to cultivate students who will create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
Castle Park High has offered the IB Diploma Program since 1989. This program offers the most rigorous academic curricula within the Sweetwater Union High School District and prepares students with a university level education. Currently, IB programs are present in 1,174 schools in the United States and in 138 countries world-wide. The advantage of the IB Diploma program is the opportunity to earn college credit through IB end-of-course exams. At the University of California campuses (UCLA, UCSD, UC Berkeley, etc.) IB Diploma recipients are given 30 quarter units. This allows students to begin classes as a second year college student. IB credit is accepted throughout the United States at public and private universities.
I look forward to working with you as we prepare our students for college attendance. Please contact me by email at robert.manroe@sweetwaterschools.org with your questions, comments, or concerns.
